Addressing the Skills Needs Arising from the Potential Trade Implications of Brexit.pdf (size 1.1 MB)

In its role as the Government's advisory body on the current and future skills needs of the Irish economy, this EGFSN report forms part of the wider whole of Government response to the challenges posed by the UK's departure from the European Union. Its purpose is to enhance understanding of the skills challenges arising from Brexit's potential trade implications, and how they might best be addressed. It profiles the potential skills needs of enterprises across a number of internationally trading sectors, as well as logistics and supply chain activities; provides an overview of responses to Brexit to date in a number of EU-27 economies; assesses the demand for logistics and supply chain skillsets under a number of Brexit scenarios over the coming decade; and provides an overview of available education and training provision relevant to international trading, as well as logistics and supply chain activities. On the basis of its findings, the report concludes with a detailed action plan on how the skills needs arising from the potential trade implications of Brexit can best be addressed.
